How are you, Friends?

Since I found myself in Islam, my hunger of knowlegde in theology area growing bigger, mostly when I did seen with my own eyes there are so many issues around our community which hold greater risks in advance but not yet being treats or even being seen and understand. But What I can do? I have no money to back to school and scholarship seems like a dream. But then my dear Brother, told me about this site.

Found by DR. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, a professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the American University in Dubai and Ajman University, head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Preston University-Ajman, UAE, a lecturer and director of Da'wah and Education at Qatar Guest Center, Doha, Qatar, and is currently the Dean of the Islaamic Studies Academy in Doha, this site was originally a product of Dr Bilal's teaching courses in Islamic Studies at the American University in Dubai for seven years after Islamizing the complete curriculums of study for the college of education of the Sharif Kabunsuan College in Cotabato City, Mindanao, Philippines in the early nineties. The BA & MA programs of the Islamic Online University represent the online version of the Islamic Studies Academy’s accredited BA Islamic Studies (BAIS) & MA Islamic Studies (MAIS) programs, which are the only accredited BAIS & MAIS programs of studies available on the internet.

This information maybe just nothing for you, but I hope it still useful for others who seek for knowlegde everywhere like I do. For you who have interest on this site, you can follow the link above and register yourself. To access the Free Courses you need to create a Free Study Account for yourself. Once you have activated your Free Study Account you are ready to enroll for the courses.

Each course has to be enrolled for individually (Enrollment is FREE!). Log in to the site and click on the course you wish to enroll for. This will take you to the enrollment page where you will be asked to confirm that you wish to enroll for the course by clicking on the 'Yes' button. This will take you to the Course page and you can start traveling on the path to knowledge through Islam.

Inside every courses, the site provide the students with lecture modules, video modules and audio modules. You have to be serious if really want to involve because this site really serious in taught the students. There are exams, test, final assigment which demanding high scores to be pass (must be able to answer more than 80% from the test) and chat in class with D. Bilal Philips himself to ask him anything you want to know once a week.

At the end, It is already promises for people who can completed 3 courses with great grade will be granted certificate from Islamic Online University as a reward. Maybe this certificate just nothing, but for me of course, The knowlegde that I can gathers in this site later is the most important thing of all; to be able to study everything That I need and want, and learn it from International Lecturer in Islamic Theology, like DR. Bilal Philips himself surely great!

From the 1st of April, 2010 the Islamic Online University (IOU) launched the world’s first tuition-free, Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies in English completely online. This is seen as a major new step towards helping Muslims across the globe fulfill the Prophet's command to seek knowledge of the religion and correct their understanding of its tenets.  

The program has recorded audio and video lectures and weekly live tutorial classes in a virtual classroom setting on the net and its syllabus is based on the BA in Usool ud-Deen (Religious Foundations) curriculums of Madeenah University, Saudi Arabia, Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan, Al-Azhar in Egypt and other similar reputable Islamic institutions. Six subjects are offered each semester. Each semester is 5 months, having an online mid-term exam after two and a half months and a supervised final online at the end of the fifth month. Students are free to access their classes whenever it is convenient for them, however assignments have to be turned in and exams (mid-term and finals) have to be taken at fixed times.

There are no fees for the courses. However, there is a fixed symbolic registration fee and examination fee each semester which is calculated on a sliding scale (from $20 to $60) depending on the student's country of residence.
