Have you ever imagine to live with rusty wires grow out from your body and hurt you for 19 years? How it feel when you cover it with your clothes, how it grow back when you took it off from your body, how much pain you have to endure and how hard life became for you..... Have you?
Her name is Noorsyaidah. She is a 42-year-old woman who worked as a kindergarten teacher At Sangata, East Borneo, Indonesia. This is her true story.
Mass Media in Indonesia called her wire woman because for 19 years she has to be suffering under trouncing of this strange illness, wires grow out of her tummy and chest. Noorsyaidah stomach and chest pierced by a rusty wire that comes out from inside her body.The wires are not only hurting her when penetrating out of the body, but also made her unable to move normally. She must always bent over and pulled her clothes off her body parts which are covered with wires, because if it is touch the wires, the wires will give her tremendous pain, because without being touch, these wires has been very painful for her.
This disease first appeared 19 years ago while Noorsyaidah still a student at the Mulawarman University of Samarinda. One day while bathing she found a wire came out through her body. The next day the other wires were emerging. The wires will grow to 10-20 cm long before then off by itself. Then from the wound where the last wire has been released, the new wire will grow back.This wire condition is also very strange because tainted by rust.
At first it took one week prior to a wire which grow to eventually separated from her body, but by the time, it took more time for one wire to be able to off by itself. Until now, there are wires that still are in its place for seven months. This causes the suffering and the pain grew longer.
During these 19 years, Noorsyahidah continue to seek answers to the causes and how to cure the disease, but no one could gave a definite answer. Her desire to receive care should be blocked by her financial problem. But then, in 2007, stories about her began appearing in the mass media in Indonesia and attracted many people. Luck was on her side at that time and Noorsyaidah have the opportunity to undergo treatment free of charge by a hospital in Samarinda. Unfortunately this one luck was not followed by a further luck.
A Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda Hospital forming a team of seven doctors and specialists in their respective fields to examine the health condition Noorsyaidah. Norsyaidah undergo a series of tests, such as blood tests, rongent, CT. Scan and others. They examined her tissue and also the wire.
Based on MRI results it had been found that the wires growth from beneath the skin surface so it is not interfere with the organ in the body. But the cause of rusty wire growth is unknown. Visible through MRI it found numbers of new wire is ready to grow through the skin.
"Medically, I have never found nor read of such a disease," said the doctor Ajie Syirafudin, The General Director of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital. “The human body does not produce iron wire, or even sticking out it of the body. “
Noor's condition, according Ajie Syirafudin, classified in what is called a corpus alienum.
"It is condition where a strange things which should not be there enters the body," said Ajie Syrafudin. Alienum corpus cases commonly reported in medical world, such as; surgical scissors left in the stomach, swallowed the ring in the esophagus, or marbles that accidentally enters the digestive tract. But there has been no case like Noor, who like to grow things. In addition, there has been no similar cases handled by physicians.
All Noor's bodily functions ascertained normal. There is no symptoms of infection found around the growing wires. Whereas normally the body will reject any foreign object inside.
"Wire is not the bone or any type. It's an iron wire," said Ajie Syirafudin.
Currently, the team doctor has claimed that they were not able to explain and help Noorsyaidah to overcome her illness. Noorsyaidah threatened to live in this condition until the day she passed away.
The reason I wrote this Hub because I hope there is someone, a physician, scientist or those who have understanding in this subject somehow read this Hub and able to give Noorsyaidah way to fix her health problem. Her condition should be something interesting for science to be studied. Maybe through this hub somehow, Noorsyaidah can get help she need. Hopefully.

After didn't get any good result from her medical exam in A. Wahab Sjahranie Hospital in Samarinda, East Borneo, Norsyaidah got another chance to had another exam from bigger Hospital in Surabaya, East Java. Dr. Soetomo Hospital is one of several famous hospital in Indonesia. But again, this exam didn't gave different result with the last result Noorsyaidah got from her earlier exam.
Internist HR Prof. Dr. Moh Yogiantoro dr Sp PD-KGH strongly suspect that the condition as something beyond the reach of medical diagnosis. "It's just weird. Clearly, there are certain conditions that can be referred to as non-medical disease and it requires different treatment from the experts."
After publishing this Hub, later I found the news that Noorsyaidah getting better these days. The number of wires inside her body decrease a lot, even it still there right until now. Too bad the medication she get not coming from science field, but through a help from one muslim teacher from Indonesia. It is a loss for science if it can't have a chance to record and doing research on this disease because it might open the door to another unexplained health problem around the world. I really hope western scientist want to take this chance to widening their knowledge, but somehow that still not happened yet.
Indeed suspicion arised around this case. Many people think this is a fake, and judge from the comments I got bellow this Hub, many readers didn't believe me either. But I can guarantee you I will never published this Hub if it is a lie. This is really happen and still happening until today.
I tried to find the news about this case from reliable source in English but there is none. All I can got only several link from Indonesian newspapers which I still added bellow so the readers can read it through translator. I hope it can give wider perspective in the area where I didnt want to touch inside my Hub.

I heard about this woman many times. And this is strange phenomenon which happen in human body. The first time I saw this on my television. It looks unbelievable. I think most of us said like that. What? Are you serious? The humon body cannot produce metal wires. this is fake. Theres is not possible way that this has happened. This woman would not be able to endure any sort of MRI, X-ray, nothing. Either this woman has a sickness to where she is sticking these wires in her skin herself, or this is made up. The effect of MRI and X-Ray for her body had been discussed too before and surprisingly, it is has no effect on her at all, just like this rusty wire didn't gave her any allergic or infection around the wound. This is made this case become more confusing.

Have you seen her in person? i am not usually this agressive on someone elses hub, but there is no way that this is true. No, to be honest, I never meet this woman in person, but I know that the leader of the team of the doctors who did the exam for her couple years ago is someone with great credibility, whose my parents know in person. So, yes, I believe this is the truth.

I just comment for pink umbrella question.. what freya said is true, i already see and find news about that on Tv and other media and with evidence from reputable hospital with the X-ray, about that metal..it is the real metal..with all phisical and chemical character of metal. This case is a hoax. No medical report and it's only published on a couple of blogs. There's no scientific support for these nonsense. If you know the doctor who treated her, as you said your family does, post the name here. This is laughable ! Nobody can grow wires in their bodies ! I can't belief intelligent people can really belief this joke !. There's nothing about it in Internet. I've seen this kind of hoax before.

Yes, it is surprised me too that western media didn't have much interest on her case and that is why I made this Hub at first, because I want other to know about her and maybe later she can get help that she really need. If there is someone who want to meet her in person, I think I will able to arrange that through one of our local newspaper here in my city, where the news about her had been published at first couple years ago.

jimbody: It had done once before in her first exam. They removed few wires under monitor supervised and the doctors had to see this wires grow back again from the place it had been took out right at that moment. Normally MRI would do that, but turned out it didn't. This wires hurt her, gave her sting experience in her skin, but that's all. there's no sign of internal problem caused by this wires. No sign of tetanus at all or another health problems caused by this wires and MRI. That make the wires should be really interesting to analyse too because it's not giving usual effect like normal wires usually did.

Perhaps this is a variety of Morgellons disease. Although this is the first time I have heard of the fibers being metallic in nature, certainly there are numerous cases of individuals the world over that have similar problems with spontaneous generation of fibers from beneath the skin. Perhaps a specialist in Morgellons might be able to shed light on this woman's condition.
Metal is inanimate, it is made of atoms. Copper, Silver, Gold are all metals. If metal could grow, would not metallurgical engineers "grow precious metals" such a Gold and Silver?

I have seen all sorts of strange and unexplainable diseases, but this beats them all. Is this real? I'm having a hard time believing it. I believe she is always in the right path and I'm sure she already tried that and doing it still.
What I am admiring her the most is her strength in faith. In so many times many people suggested her to go ask help from shaman or someone like that, told her it supposed to be black magic and the only way to cure it only with another black magic too, but she said,
"I believe in God and I know He is the only answer for this if this is really black magic. If this is happened because someone hurt me in unusual way, I don't want to hurt them back, because what the different between me and them if I do that?"
This is great probation for her. I guess maybe this Allah way to help her erased all sin that she ever committed, and somehow she understand that.

I too believe this is a hoax , self mutilation? Maybe . A cry for help from her mind? It can't be real , Why hasen't the media and the medical world picked this up?Strange world we live in.
Ahorseback, no, it is not hoax.
And maybe, I think the reason why medical world from abroad and also the media outside Indonesia didn't picked this up because it is look like a hoax and hard for them to think it is not, so they don't want to look further about it. But this case already become headline several years ago in many media and TV Stations in Indonesia. But, well, many Indonesian already get used to with the weird and weirdest, so maybe it is more easy for us to accepting this case as fact.
I usually not easy to believe too, but this story too disturbing for me and how it is not able to be solve until now really annoying me, that is why I wrote this Hub. Today Noor seem bored with all publicity and medical treatments which never gave her any good results at all, so she said "no more" for publicity. I can't blame her though. There is another reason why I wrote this Hub that I never explained before, which is; to challenge science to proof it's power over everything in this world.
Many people today do not believe on miracle. They abandon religion and God and worshipping science instead; believe there is no such think as God. Now, in this weird case, I want science to find the answer and open their eyes that there is absolutely something bigger than science and anything in this world: GOD almighty!
Yes, we both aware what might already happened to her which make me really admiring Noor Syaidah. She said she believe Allah is the only caused and cure for everything. She only allowing science and Ustadz and Ustadzah to help her, and never even once, she took a glance on another kind of help which is not from Allah or science.
She indeed got help from one of Ustadzah in my country. I believe this Ustadzah gave her Rukiah indeed, and it is success to reduced the wire until only three left in her tummy. But too bad, right before all of her sickness entirely cure, due lack of money to finance her treatment (I believe Ustadzah not asked money to from her, but because Ustadzah live in different city with Noor, of course she need money to paid hotel room and her food) she came home.
It's been so long now that I never heard any news from her again. Last time I heard her sickness back again and she closed all communication with public because she thought published her sickness only gave her more trouble than help she need.

Ok it can't be rusty metal wire, otherwise the mri would have gone all jiffy pop on her. It's probably keratin of some sort in which case it's not that unusual.
It is rusty but yes, the weirdest is those rusty wires not even affecting her body. It's root just attached under her skin. Even under MRI it's not gave her anymore trouble more it's existences there in her body. Keratin? Interesting. Can you give me more info?

I'm calling this article BS. If they had really put her in an MRI machine, the wires would get pulled out from the extremely powerful magnetic field. She should be seeing a psychiatrist to find out why she is sticking pieces of wire in her stomach.

Amazing! She must have some Wolverine Power! :) just kidding. Seriously I don't think that this is a hoax. The world is full of wonders. There are things that science can't explain. Because of modernization, it's been too difficult for us to believe in things like this. In our country, old folks often called this "barang" or black magic. But it doesn't mean I'm buying that idea though in my own experience, this kind of unexplainable thing happens to my family once. This happens to my grandma in the late 60's. A lot of unusual things came out from her body like insects for example. Same thing there is no any medical explanation. Fortunately she got cured by a spiritual healer. Still today it's kinda hard for me to believe it because I haven't seen the actual situation. I'm not saying that Noorsyaidah's case is associated with black magic or something but who knows. In some remote areas that modernization can't reach, many people still believe in these stuffs. This is very interesting and intriguing as well. I'm hoping that science will take this as a challenge and provide a better explanation to enlighten our minds. And Freya, how is she doing now? I'm hoping for her recovery.

I have read this blog and I see Freya responds to every post calling this a hoax. Hey Freya, I work in the medical field and what you are saying does not add up. You say she was "strangely" not effected by the MRI. Thats impossible. Any metal at all (especially iron and rust) would be yanked out of her with incredible force. Its a scientific fact, an MRI machine is a giant powerful magnet. I once saw a man die because a nurse forgot to remove a metal canister. When they turned on the machinge, this canister that weighed around 30 pounds, ripped through the poor man slamming itself against the magnetic field of the machine. Plus, metal cannot grow. This woman is either suffering from self mutalation, or jamming wires inside her for attention. Dont be naive, the woman refuses to see any western Drs or have an operation to remove them. I wonder why?
Hi I'm from Singapore. Came to this hub through google after hearing about this from some television documentary about Indonesia where a celebrity went to Indonesia to visit her. Apparently (although I am committing a logical fallacy here), it is likely to be true for the case was shown on National tv. I am a very scientific person and I don't really believe in the existence of the supernatural/ religion thus I can understand why people would believe this to be untrue.
Anyway, if keratin were possible, then she could have ingested on a continuous basis, perhaps by accident, some building block of metals (ions perhaps?) that could have precipitated from her skin if concentrations were high enough. Just an attempt to explain, our current state of technology is still rather primitive and I still find that our knowledge is still a far cry from the grand picture. Philosophically, nothing could ever be truly defined nor definite. To give an exaggerated explanation, this reality could be a video game and that lady is simply a computer virus (no offense I hope, just an example), so there you have it, 2 possible explanations, although is second explanation would be a rather "cheap" way of expressing my view.
Lastly, in the case of MRI, please do note that not all metals are metallic thus the metals in her body would be unaffected. I believe that no doctor would make such a fatal flaw. Either this, or there would be some change to the MRI process. There are many explanations for everything, thus I hope that before we pass judgement, we think of every possibility first ( although I got depression from thinking too much haha, on a side note).
Things may sound logical and one may treasure his personal view, but we should also remember that logical in itself is flawed, one wrong step along our critical pathway, and what we hold as right would be wrong. In conclusion, please do not be too quick to criticize this hub.

Hello all. Thank you for the comments and I'm really sorry for the late reply. In the end all I can say, there are many unexplained things in this world which maybe out from logic. It is true that most of we, Indonesian, get used to see the weird and weirdest everywhere and it might caused us to be able to see this as the way it is presented to us, a serious and real case while others might not. But whether people want to believe it or not, it is up to themselves.In the end I just reporting a news for you to read. Thank you. :)
